In an attempt to retrace the meta-textual lineage of adaptation among three blonde counterfactual storytellers—balancing the thin line between self-actualization, fannish impersonation and multimillion-dollar wire fraud— Levi van Gelder depicts famous YouTuber and media personality Trisha Paytas doing an impression of convicted Silicon Valley fraudster Elizabeth Holmes in a ASMR roleplay video. The sculpture is a Frankensteinian pastiche, in which a paper-mache head is mounted on spider-like legs of steel, a compound of cultural signifiers that looks like it could haunt your dreams in search for scientific data, or grace the cover of Forbes magazine.
